People Advisor (Recruitment Focus)
Life Saving Victoria is Victoria's peak water safety and lifesaving organisation built on the proud traditions and programs of our founding organisations, the Royal Life Saving Society – Australia and Surf Life Saving Australia.
Lifesaving has been an integral part of the Victorian way of life since 1904. Today LSV is a multifaceted volunteer-based community organisation with a focus on public safety and community wellbeing.

About the role
This is a full time, ongoing position based at our Port Melbourne office, with hybrid working arrangements.
As a People & Culture Advisor (internally known as Specialist – People and Culture) you will support the delivery of end-to-end recruitment and broader People & Culture activities across the organisation. You will work closely with managers to attract and onboard great people, provide first-level employee relations support, and contribute to key P&C initiatives.
A key focus of the role is coordinating high volume seasonal recruitment campaigns, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for both candidates and hiring teams. Additionally, you will:
- Manage end‑to‑end recruitment across a variety of roles, from attraction through to offer and onboarding
- Coordinate high‑volume seasonal recruitment campaigns, including workforce planning, scheduling and delivery

Provide recruitment advice and guide managers to embed best practice processes across recruitment and general P&C activities
- Provide first‑level employee relations support, including guidance to managers on low‑risk matters and escalating as required
- Support onboarding and employee lifecycle activities to ensure a positive employee experience
- Maintain recruitment and P&C data, and contribute to reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
About you
You are an organised and proactive People & Culture professional who is looking to grow your career in a generalist HR role. You thrive in a fast paced environment, enjoy recruitment, and are keen to build your experience across the employee lifecycle.
You have a solid foundation in recruitment, along with the ability to build relationships, manage competing priorities, and deliver a positive candidate and employee experience. Additionally, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience supporting or managing end‑to‑end recruitment across a variety of roles
- Exposure to high volume or seasonal recruitment campaigns (or similar fast paced hiring environments)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple vacancies and competing priorities

Experience supporting managers with recruitment processes and first‑level P&C/ER support, with an interest in further developing your employee relations knowledge
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience using recruitment systems and maintaining accurate data and reporting
- A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check is required (or willingness to obtain)
